Harvest Arts Festival

    The Harvest Arts Festival this past Friday was packed with activities for all of the grades.  One of them was in the art room.  The activity they were doing was origami puppets.  From dragons to other animals to things even I couldn’t understand.  

In the red community there was a session about fairy house building. They talked about how you could use nature and possibly things from the sea and turn them into fairy houses.  That session even taught me something.  

At the lunch period for all grades we had a mix-it-up lunch.  Mix-it-up lunch is a time where you can sit with new people that you wouldn’t normally sit with and introduce yourself to new people and learn about their lives.    

In the gym we learned how to Contra dance.  It was a fun adventure and it had a good tune to it.  “Jump, jump, jump through the valley, shake your head, nod your head, tap the ground.”

    The UMaine band played a few songs for us.  The song I think everyone enjoyed most was “What Does the Fox Say?”  It was a real treat to have them perform for us.  At mix it up lunch, they showed us their instruments and I think everyone enjoyed that a lot.  

     In the blue community people played banjos for us.  I think that gave everyone a good experience.  People might have a new liking in banjos!
