Fun with Sound

The kids in these pictures are experimenting to determine what causes sound (vibrations).  

 

 

Below are some pictures of Ms. Joles working with the kids to explain pitch.  In the first picture the kids are standing up tall because she is playing a high pitched sound. When they heard a low pitched sound they would crouch down low.  In the second picture she is using beans on a speaker to show how a higher pitched sound has faster and stronger vibrations than a lower pitched sound.
